PORTLAND, Ore. --- Portland freshmen Delentz Pierre and Kevin Ogudugu both found the back of the net and goalkeeper Nico Campuzano recorded the shutout as the Pilots blanked the Santa Clara Broncos 2-0 in a West Coast Conference men's soccer match played on Saturday evening at Merlo Field. Pierre claims the game-winner, his first, and Campuzano notches his third clean sheet on the year.
Portland's (7-5-1, 1-2-0 WCC) first goal came off a set piece in the 30th minute after Rey Ortiz earned a corner kick with a shot that was deflected out. Ortiz then went near post with the corner, and Pierre elevated and sent a well-placed header into the far side of the net.
