PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland shot 70 percent from the field and cruised to a 93-73 victory over Long Beach State Wednesday at Chiles Center. The 70 percent from the field was the best by a Pilot team since shooting 72.2 percent in a 55-54 loss to Cal State Fullerton on Dec. 21, 1982 in Portland.
The Pilots (5-3) had four players score in double figures, led by freshman guard Joel Foxwell, who had 19 points, seven assists and two steals. Freshman forward Timo George added 19 points, six rebounds, four assists and two blocks from the bench and senior Matus Hronsky helped out with 16 points.
