LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Portland Pilots drilled a program and tournament record 19 three-pointers en route to a 92-74 win against San Diego Thursday night in the first round of the 2023 University Credit Union West Coast Conference Basketball Tournament hosted at the Orleans Arena. The Pilots advance to face the tournament No. 5 seed, BYU, on Friday at 6 p.m.
The Pilots (14-19) scored 57 second half points to pull away after the game was tied at 35 at the half. Portland made 19-of-36 three-pointers and made just seven two-point field goals in the contest.
