PORTLAND, Ore. --- The Portland Pilots women's rowing team travels to Dexter Lake this weekend for the 2019 Covered Bridge Regatta, which will be taking place just outside of Eugene, Ore., on Saturday. The Pilots are sending five boats to the regatta, including a varsity eight, a second eight, a varsity four, a second four, and a novice four.
Most of Portland's crews will be racing twice as all the events feature heats, finals, petite finals, and grand finals.
"Back-to-back racing weekends are tough mentally and physically," Portland head coach Pasha Spencer said, "but we had a good week of training and fine tuning, so we are excited to see what we can do in a large and broad field of schools at the Covered Bridge Regatta.
