Pilots Punch Ticket to NCAA’s with 2nd-Place Showing at West Regionals, while Women Finish 5th

SACRAMENTO, Calif. --- Portland sophomore Nick Hauger placed sixth overall at the NCAA West Regionals on Friday, helping the Pilots to a second-place team finish and allowing them to punch a ticket to the NCAA Championships. On the women's side, junior Lauren LaRocco finished fourth individually to lead the Pilots to fifth-place team finish.

Hauger crossed the line at 29:48.1 in the men's 10K at Haggin Oaks Golf Course, as all seven of the Portland men finished in the top 30. Jeff Thies (29:58.1), Tim Ball (30:05.4), and Stephen Mulherin (30:08.7) all rounded out the top 25, while Brady Johnson and Danny Martinez finished 28th and 30th.
