SEATTLE, Wash. --- The Portland Pilots women's rowing team battled brutal weather conditions and a loaded field at the Head of the Lake, which took place on a cold, windy and wet Sunday morning near the University of Washington campus. The Pilots put three boats on the water in Seattle, where the weather forced delays and caused the cancellation of races.
"Today was the toughest race conditions we have ever been in and the team handled it well overall," Portland head coach Pasha Spencer said. "Freezing temperatures, rain, snow, an increasing north wind and race delays up to 30 minutes.
