VANCOUVER, Wash. – The University of Portland women's tennis team opened play at the Portland-Seattle Battle on Friday afternoon at the Vancouver Tennis Center. The tournament features players from the host Portland State Vikings, Washington Huskies and the Pilots.
Junior Jelena Lukic recorded a comfortable 6-1, 6-2 win over Portland State's Lotti Meszaros. Junior Emily Soares cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 victory against PSU's Alli Valk, while junior Anna Oberg posted a 6-0, 6-1 win against Taylor Rees from the Vikings.
In doubles action, Lukic and senior Radina Dimitrova scored a 6-3 win against Rees and Jacinta Milenkoski.
