KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the first time ever in the United Soccer Coaches Poll and the first time in any poll since 1992, the Portland Pilots are ranked No. 1 in the nation. They were a unanimous selection, earning all eight first-place votes.
Portland earns the ranking after what's been a stellar start to the season, sitting at 7-0-1 on the season and 1-0-0 in WCC play with a win over the Gonzaga Bulldogs last weekend. The Pilots are unbeaten through eight for the first time since 2022 and their 7-0-1 record is the best through eight games since 1988.
