PORTLAND, Ore. --- The Portland Pilots rowing team opens the 2019 spring season this weekend when they travel to the Sacramento State Invitational, which is scheduled for Saturday morning on Lake Natoma. The Pilots will race four boats the invite, beginning with the varsity eight at 8:15 a.m.
Other crews racing include host Sacramento State, Saint Mary's, UC San Diego, Humboldt State, Orange Coast College and Mills College.
"We had a long winter of training and had to adjust quickly to being on the water and racing speed," said Portland head coach Pasha Spencer, "but the team is really excited and ready to get out there and test it.
