LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Portland men's soccer time pulled out a thrilling overtime victory on the road, defeating the No. 15-ranked Loyola Marymount Lions on late substitute Gurman Sangha's game-winner in the 94th minute Saturday at Sullivan Field.
Sangha made a run down the left side and played a ball into the box for teammate Alejandro Pereira. Sangha continued his run and Pereira found him for a clinical finish to send the Pilots into jubilation.
Portland improves to 7-5-0 on the season and 2-1-0 in West Coast Conference play, while the Lions fall to 9-4-1 and 1-2-0 in league matches.
