Pilots Have Solid Day on Lake Natoma to Begin the 2017 Season

LAKE NATOMA, Calif. --- The Portland Pilots officially began the 2017 women's rowing season on a full Lake Natoma on Saturday morning, racing five boats total at the Sacramento State Invitational. Portland's varsity eight posted its fastest time ever on the course, which is also the site of the West Coast Conference Championships.

"It was a great opportunity to be invited to race at Lake Natoma this weekend," Portland head coach Pasha Spencer said. "We have only been practicing on the water for two weeks and it was a good transition from doing pace work on land to full race pieces on the water.
