Pilots Force OT with Late Comeback, But San Diego Claims Victory

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Pilots overcame a nine-point deficit in the final two minutes of regulation to force overtime, but the San Diego Toreros pulled out an 81-74 victory in West Coast Conference basketball action Thursday night at the Chiles Center.

Portland entered the game second in the WCC with more than nine three-pointers made per game, but started the game 0-for-6 until sophomore Josh McSwiggan's game-tying three with 13 seconds left in regulation to force overtime.

The Pilots (6-10, 0-3 WCC) scored the first basket of overtime on a JoJo Walker layup, but were held scoreless the rest of the way as San Diego held on for the win.
