SEATTLE, Wash. --- The Portland Pilots opened the season by claiming a point on the road with a 0-0 draw against the Washington Huskies in a women's soccer non-conference game played on Friday night at Husky Soccer Stadium. The Pilots created a handful of opportunities throughout the night but were ultimately unable to find the back of the net.
Freshman keeper Jenny Whalen started in goal for the Pilots, and the native of Sweden made several stellar saves on the night to preserve the tie. She finished with seven stops overall as the Pilots begin the season 0-0-1.
