PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Portland Pilots scored 10 runs in the fifth inning, dominating the Santa Clara Broncos all the way through for a 16-2 win in just seven innings. The Pilots claim the series with the win.
Carter Gaston (3-7) started on the mound and pitched the full seven innings in the win for Portland (20-23, 11-6). The right-hander went seven innings, giving up two runs, one earned, on four hits, allowing four walks and striking out four.
Trey Swygart went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and a walk in addition to his five RBI' s for the Pilots.
