PORTLAND, Ore. --- Taryn Ries scored her fifth game-winner, Madison Carter collected her first career goal, and Ellie Walker provided two assists as the Portland Pilots dismantled the Saint Mary's Gaels to claim a convincing 3-0 win in a West Coast Conference women's soccer game played on Friday night at Merlo Field. The Pilots only allowed two shots on the night en route to their seventh shutout on the year.
Portland (9-5-0, 2-1-0 WCC) controlled the run of play all night long and did well to limit the Gaels' (6-5-2, 1-1-1 WCC) chances. The Pilots finished with 15 shots, while neither SMC attempt was on-target.
