SEATTLE, Wash.---Pilots 2s Noelani Helm and Taylor Helle claimed a three-set thriller against a pair of Bows at Alki Beach on Sunday, but No. 8 Hawai'i would claim a 4-1 team win in the semifinal match of the Husky Invitational. Oregon overcame Portland 5-0 in the day's second dual.
Sophie Lee and Sarah Strong forced a final frame on UH at the 3s, but the Rainbow Wahine eventually took the flight win with set scores of 21-11, 19-21 and 15-7.
"In our longest tournament of the weekend I thought we showed tremendous grit and resilience competing for the second time with #8 Hawaii and Oregon," said Portland coach Dylan Hamilton.
