TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The University of Portland men's and women's cross country teams competed at the NCAA Pre-Nationals Saturday morning, where the women placed fourth in the Blue 6K and men placed 23rd in the Blue 8K. The Pilots faced up against top competitors in the national rankings on both the men's and women's sides at the LaVern Gibson Championship XC Course in Terre Haute, Ind. This race simulated the upcoming NCAA championship meet that will take place in November.
The Portland men ran in two meets this weekend. They first sent their top seven runners to the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational Friday morning, where the Pilots produced a seventh place finish also among nationally ranked teams.
