PORTLAND, Ore. --- Portland's Devlyn Jeter notched the equalizer and Allison Wetherington scored the game-winner in the second half as the Pilots responded to an early deficit by claiming a 2-1 win over the St. John's Red Storm at the 2016 Nike Invitational at Merlo Field on Sunday afternoon. The win gives the Nike Invite team title to the Pilots, and both Jeter (Defensive) and Wetherington (Offensive) claimed individual honors.
The first half was evenly played as the two teams matched possession and shots during the first 45 minutes. But it was the Red Storm who found the back of the net first on a corner kick in the 29th minute.
