EDINBURG, Texas --- Hunter Montgomery homered and collected four RBI's and Connor Knutson registered his third save of the weekend as the Portland Pilots defeated the North Dakota State Bison 8-5 on the final day of the Al Ogletree Classic on Sunday at the UTRGV Baseball Stadium. Montgomery had three hits overall and was just a triple shy of hitting for the cycle.
Montgomery's first big hit came with the bases loaded in the bottom of the third inning. His single to left field scored two and handed the Pilots a 3-0 lead. A few batters later, Tracye Tammaro sent a single to right field with the bases loaded, which scored two more and made it a 5-0 game.
