Pilots Advance After Defeating Redhawks 3-2 in Opening Round

PORTLAND, Ore. – Alejandro Pereira scored twice and Wesley Frankel had the game-winner as the Pilots (11-6-1, 4-2-1 WCC) took down the Seattle Redhawks (13-8-1, 8-3-0 WAC) 3-2 to advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Noe Meza and Levonte Johnson had the goals for Seattle.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Seattle struck first on a rainy night at Merlo. The Pilots cleared a kick, but the ball found its way back into the box and pinballed around. It landed at the feet of Noe Meza, who snuck it by George Tasouris for the opening score.
