SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Portland senior Michail Pervolarakis earned West Coast Conference Singles Player of the Week honors after recording a pair of impressive wins at the top of the lineup as the Pilots recorded wins over Princeton and Portland State last weekend.
Pervolarakis, No. 18 nationally in the Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association singles rankings, posted a comeback win over No. 114 Ryan Seggerman of Princeton on Friday. After dropping the first set by a 6-4 margin, he came back in dominant fashion to win 6-2 in the second and 6-1 in the third.
Pervolarakis then beat Nathan Boniel of Portland State in straight sets on Saturday to improve to 4-0 in dual singles action this spring.
