Austin, Texas – Laura Pellicoro placed eighth in her 1500-meter semifinals heat Thursday at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted at Mike A. Myers Stadium. Pellicoro recorded a time of 4:21.31 to finish 19th overall among semifinal competitors. The race was tactical and went out slow, forcing a quick last lap. Pellicoro finished her last lap in 1:04.36 to hang on for eighth in her final NCAA race of the season.
Pellicoro's junior campaign was exceptional, setting five school records during indoor track, earning All-American status in cross country, qualifying for the mile during indoor track and qualifying for her fifth NCAA championships during outdoor track.
