PORTLAND, Ore. --- Portland junior Parkes Kendrick is the U.S. Bank University of Portland Student Athlete of the Month for the month of March. Kendrick receives the honor after placing first in her first two outdoor track races and a nationally ranked fourth fastest time in the 5,000m.
Kendrick first took to the track on March 19 at the Lewis & Clark Spring Break Open. In her first outdoor track collegiate race, she won the 1,500m with a time of 4:28.59.
The following week she was back on the track again, except this time at the Willamette Invitational in Salem, Ore.
