Pankin’s Deep Run at ITA Super Regional ends in Semifinals

SEATTLE, Wash. – Sema Pankin had his run at the ITA Northwest Super Regionals came to an end in the semifinals Sunday at the Lloyd Nordstrom Tennis Center. Pankin knocked off three quality opponents to reach the semifinals, but came up short to No. 3-seed and 72nd-ranked Clement Chidekh of host Washington by a 6-4, 6-4 margin.

Pankin, the No. 6 seed in the singles draw, pulled out the 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 victory over Stanford's nationally-ranked Alexandre Rotsaert in the quarterfinals and also defeated James Watt (Saint Mary's) and Matthew Hollingworth (Gonzaga) in the singles draw.

"Sema played a very good match today," Portland head coach Aaron Gross said.
