EUGENE, Ore. – Portland doubles tandem Sema Pankin and Eleftherios Neos have reached the doubles finals at the ITA Northwest Regional Championships held at the Student Tennis Center. Overall, the Pilots have had a very successful tournament with freshman Julien Penzlin and three doubles teams qualifying for the ITA Northwest Super Regionals, which will be held Oct. 22-25 in Seattle.
Singles quarterfinalists and doubles semifinalists in the regional main draw will advance to Super Regionals. Pankin is already a singles qualifier for the Super Regional and will now be joined by Penzlin, who was knocked out of the singles draw in the semifinals by top overall seed Sasha Trkulja of Gonzaga on Saturday.
