CORVALLIS, Ore. --- Oregon State scored in the first half and the Portland Pilots couldn't produce the equalizer as the Beavers held on for a 1-0 win in a non-conference men's soccer match played on Monday night at Paul Lorenz Field.
OSU's (2-0) goal came in the 25th minute, and it was scored by Gloire Amanda. Joel Walker tallied an assist on the play, and it's Amanda's third goal already on the young season.
Portland (1-1) spent the next 65 minutes searching to level the score, and they nearly pulled even in the 32st minute when Alejandro Pereira hit one towards the frame.
