LAKE NATOMA, Calif. -- The novice four earned a win in the second heat of the women's novice four races at the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships (WIRAs), guaranteeing that all four boats for Portland would race for the Grand Final on Sunday for their respective races. The Pilots finished second in the varsity eight, second varsity eight and varsity four races as well.
This is the first win of the season for the novice four boat. The novice four was the final boat for the day for Portland, with the Pilots finishing with a time of 7:58.
