PORTLAND, Ore. --- The Portland Pilots hosted No.9 BYU in the Chiles Center for their regular season finale on senior day on Saturday afternoon. Though Portland fought a difficult last two sets, the Cougars topped Portland with scores of 25-13, 25-20, and 25-20.
Seniors Hannah Troutman and Sarah Savoca recorded two kills in the initial points of the first set to keep the Cougars within sights, but BYU produced a 9-1 run to extend their lead to 14-4 in the first set. Freshman Liz Reich then attempted to spark a comeback with a kill and a block with Sarah Savoca, but the Cougars continued to surge towards set point with two more runs to make it 23-9.
