No. 3 Oregon State Outlasts Pilots in Front of Record Crowd at Joe Etzel Field

PORTLAND, Ore. --- The No. 3 Oregon State Beavers jumped out to an early lead before outlasting the Portland Pilots 13-6 in a non-conference baseball game played on Tuesday night in front of the largest crowd in Joe Etzel Field history. Caleb Whalen went yard for the Pilots in the loss, his third long fly of the year, and Michael Forgione went 3-for-4 with two RBI's and two runs scored.

The crowd of 1,092 surpassed the previous high of 1,002, which was set back in 2007 also against the Beavers.

The Beavers (16-2) scored three runs in the top of the second inning and three more in the third to take control of the game.
