MORAGA, Calif. – No. 16 Saint Mary's got hot early and cruised to its 16th consecutive victory with a 72-55 win over the Portland Pilots on Saturday night at McKeon Pavilion. The Gaels improved to 21-2 overall and 10-0 in West Coast Conference play, while the Pilots fell to 8-15 and 2-8 in league action after facing their second ranked opponent this week.
The Pilots outscored the Gaels in the second half, but had too much ground to make up after Saint Mary's erupted offensively in the first half.
Portland freshman point guard JoJo Walker buried his first five three-point attempts and finished with a team-high 15 points.
