PORTLAND, Ore. – The 2022 United Soccer Coaches West Region Staff of the Year is here to stay. The University of Portland has extended the contract of women's soccer head coach Michelle French and has promoted assistant coaches Maite Zabala and Logan Emory to co-associate head coaches. With the promotions, Zabala and Emory become the first associate head coaches in program history.
French came to Portland in 2018, most recently leading Portland to their best season in nine years. She led the Pilots to a 12-5-4 record this past season, making the tournament for the first time in nine years.
