SAN BRUNO, Calif. --- Portland seniors Gio Magana-Rivera and Rey Ortiz were both voted to the All-West Coast Conference Preseason Men's Soccer Team, while the Pilots received a first-place vote and were selected to finish second in a vote of the league's eight head coaches.
The Saint Mary's Gaels topped the preseason poll with seven first-place votes and a total of 49 points. Portland earned 37 points, which was just ahead of third-place San Diego (34 points).
The Pilots are coming off their second playoff visit in the past three years as they reached the second round of the 2018 NCAA Tournament.
