PORTLAND, Ore. --- Portland junior Luke Hendel is the West Coast Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week after scoring the game-winning goal for the Pilots against the UC Riverside Highlanders on Friday night at Merlo Field. The goal is the third of the season for Hendel, and all three goals have been game-winners.
With the Pilots leading 1-0 against the Highlanders, the ball fell to the feet of Hendel in the 35th minute, and he finished inside the left post to push Portland's edge to two goals. UC Riverside did pull one back in the second half, but the Pilots held on for the 2-1 win.
