PORTLAND, Ore. --- The Portland Pilots were overcome in three sets by LMU on Saturday afternoon in the Chiles Center. The Lions won the West Coast Conference match with set scores of 25-19, 25-19, and 25-18.
Tied at 8-8 in the first set, LMU (17-9, 8-6 WCC) went on a run to take the lead at 15-10. The Pilots (14-11, 7-6 WCC) fought back to close the gap with kills from Sarah Savoca and Katie Sullivan, along with an ace from Emma Scanlan. Sullivan, Savoca, and Brittney Markwith then sparked a four-point run, but the Lions continued their momentum, finishing the set 25-19.
