LOS ANGELES, Calif. --- The Loyola Marymount Lions rebounded from yesterday's loss to defeat the Portland Pilots 8-1 at Page Stadium on Saturday night to even the three-game West Coast Conference series. The Pilots, who won the opener 3-1 on Friday, will look to win the series with the finale tomorrow afternoon.
The Lions (7-12, 1-1 WCC) used two three-run innings to claim the win on Saturday. The first three runs came in the bottom of the second inning, and Jimmy Hill was responsible for two of those runs with a homer to left field.
Portland (11-7, 1-1 WCC) got one back in the top of the third inning after Brady Kerr sent a one-out double to right-center field, advanced to third base on a ground out and scored courtesy a pass ball.
