COLLEGE STATION, Tx. --- Redshirt sophomore Lauren LaRocco placed 12th overall in a blistering 5000m race, Friday evening at the 2017 NCAA Indoor Championships, in the Gilliam Indoor Stadium.
"Lauren ran a gutsy race and really went for it," said Portland head coach Ian Solof. "The 4:55 first mile cost her in the end, but I'm glad she put herself in the mix. The exciting thing is that she's only a sophomore at indoors and is only going to get better."
LaRocco hung with the top group, as the section surged through the first mile of the 5000m.
