PORTLAND, Ore. --- Redshirt sophomore Lauren LaRocco and Junior Taryn Rawlings have been named the U.S. Bank Co-Student Athletes of the Month after both broke school records in their respective events at the UW Invite on Jan. 27-28 in Seattle.
LaRocco, competing in the 3000 meter, cross the finish line in 9:16.66 for an impressive sixth-place finish. She broke the previous school record (9:22.07), which was set in 2015 by current teammate Anne Luijten, by more than five seconds. This was LaRocco's first indoor race of the 2017 season.
Rawlings set a new record in the mile with a time of 4:45.
