PORTLAND, Ore. --- Portland's junior reliever Connor Knutson was named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year midseason watch list, it was announced on Wednesday. Knutson has eight saves this season with a 1.37 ERA.
Knutson also has a pair of wins this spring, he's K'd 21 in 26.1 total innings, and he's holding opposing hitters to a .239 batting average. Knutson is tied for 16th nationally in saves, and he's tied for fourth on Portland's all-time single-season list with those eight stops. The Sammamish, Wash., native also has 16 saves for his career, which is tied for the second most in program history.
