University of Portland head coach Jeff Baxter has been named an assistant for the Canadian Women's Volleyball National Team, Volleyball Canada announced this week. Baxter recently completed his first year as head coach of the Pilots and led the program to its best season in school history.
Baxter joins the Canada Volleyball technical staff under head coach Tom Black, who was hired in February. Black is also the head coach of the University of Georgia Bulldogs.
"I am very honored and excited for the opportunity to assist Team Canada," Baxter said. "I am eager to get to work with the athletes and staff we have in place.
