Hummel, Whalen Both Taken by the Milwaukee Brewers in MLB Draft

PORTLAND, Ore. --- The Milwaukee Brewers selected a pair of Pilots in Major League Baseball's Amateur Draft on Saturday, first taking junior catcher Cooper Hummel in the 18th round before adding senior outfielder Caleb Whalen in the 38th round. Hummel and Whalen are the first Pilots taken in the draft since Travis Radke in 2014.

"I'm very excited to have been drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers and I couldn't be happier," Hummel said. "It was definitely a whirlwind of events and emotions over the last three days. The Brewers called me earlier today before these rounds started, but I honestly never expect that I was going to get drafted by Milwaukee.
