Hernandez Named WCC Defensive Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – For the first time this season, Portland Pilots goalkeeper Miguel-Angel Hernandez was named the West Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week. He's the first Pilot to earn the honor this season.

Hernandez has been in goal for four of Portland's five shutouts to start the season, including the most recent two 1-0 shutout wins against the Wisconsin Badgers and Kansas City Roos. Hernandez posted crucial saves in both matches, including a save in the 79th minute against Wisconsin and in the 84th minute against Kansas City. The save against Kansas City came with the Pilots down a player due to a red card as well

Hernadez helped keep the Pilots undefeated through their first five games at 5-0-0.
