Haws, Childs Lead BYU Past Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. – TJ Haws and Yoeli Childs combined for 39 points as the BYU Cougars cruised to an 83-48 win over Portland Thursday night in West Coast Conference action at the Chiles Center.

It marks the 11th straight loss for the Pilots (7-18, 0-10 WCC), while the Cougars (15-10, 7-3) remain in sole possession of second place in the league standings with the win.

The 48 points were a season-low for Portland. Twelve different Pilots scored, but none reached double figures as sophomore guard Marcus Shaver Jr. led the team with nine points.

Haws scored a game-high 22 points for the Cougars, while Childs added a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
