STANFORD, Calif. – The Portland doubles tandem of Tom Hann and Kostya Nesterenko advanced to the quarterfinals of the championship draw with a pair of wins on Saturday at the ITA Northwest Regional Championships hosted at the Taube Family Tennis Complex.
The duo defeated Oregon's Jesper Nielsen and Riki Oshima by an 8-5 margin and then held on for a tiebreak victory against the tournament's No. 5 seed from Stanford in the Round of 16. Hann and Nesterenko fell behind by a 4-0 margin to William Genesen and Axel Geller, but stormed back to win the match 10-8 in a tiebreaker.
