PORTLAND, Ore. --- The Portland Pilots battled Gonzaga to five sets on Saturday afternoon in the Chiles Center in a West Coast Conference match. The Bulldogs ultimately overcame the Pilots 3-2. Portland fought through the five sets with scores of 25-11, 20-25, 14-25, 25-22, and 9-15.
The Pilots (13-8, 4-5) came out strong in the first set with an impressive 10-point run to jump ahead 13-2, led by three kills from junior Reghan Pukis. Portland held their momentum to move forward into the final points of the set with kills from seniors Sarah Savoca and Hannah Troutman, along with sophomore Katie Barker.
