PORTLAND, Ore. – The Gonzaga Bulldogs swept Portland 4-0 in the regular season finale for both teams on Saturday at the Louisiana Pacific Tennis Center. Gonzaga improves to 11-9 overall and 6-3 in WCC play, while the Pilots conclude the dual season with an 8-12 overall record and 3-6 in league.
The Bulldogs opened by claiming the doubles point as No. 25-ranked Sophie Whittle and Graciela Rosas defeated Pilot juniors Jelena Lukic and Anna Oberg 6-3 at the No. 1 position. Gonzaga clinched with a 6-2 victory at No. 3 doubles, while the No. 2 Portland tandem of junior Emily Soares and freshman Marija Elenova were tied 4-4 in an unfinished match.
