PORTLAND, Ore. – The Seattle University Redhawks scored the first 15 points of the game and then held off a late Portland rally for a 67-56 non-conference win Monday night at the Chiles Center. Josh McSwiggan led the Pilots with 14 points, while JoJo Walker added 13 points and five steals in the loss.
The Pilots (6-7) converted just 7-of-19 free throws for the game, but managed to cut the deficit to seven in the closing minutes. Portland forced nine Seattle U turnovers in the second half to spark a late rally. Hugh Hogland had a putback dunk and then McSwiggan buried a corner three to make it 59-57 with 2:09 remaining.
