Eighth-Inning Comeback Gives Lions Series Over Pilots

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Portland Pilots (17-10, 4-5 WCC) allowed eight runs in the eighth inning to give the Loyola Marymount Lions (9-17-1, 6-4 WCC) an 11-5 victory in Los Angeles. The loss gives LMU the series.

Merrick Baldo took the win for the Lions while Peter Allegro recorded the loss. Allegro gave up the first three runs in the eighth inning that put the Lions in the lead. The Pilots cycled through four different pitchers in the eighth inning. Eli Morse did, however, match his career high in the start with 11 strikeouts through 5.
