SAN MATEO, Calif. – Portland senior Luke Hendel and freshman Nick Fernandez were named to the All-West Coast Conference second team, highlighting eight total Pilots to be honored as selected by the league's head coaches.
Hendel's seven goals led the WCC, including a pair of penalty kicks in road matches at San Diego and Gonzaga leading to good results.
Fernandez made seven starts and nine total appearances and logged a goal and an assist while playing quality minutes for the Pilots. The Downers Grove, Ill. native was also named to the All-WCC Freshman team.
Freshman striker Buba Fofanah joined Fernandez on the freshman team and was also an honorable mention pick.
