EUGENE, Ore---Pilots men's runner Cathal Doyle has qualified for the 1500 meter run final at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships following an outstanding performance in his semifinal heat at Hayward Field on Wednesday evening. The Irish native set a new Portland all-time record in the event, clocking in with a new personal best of 3:39.21.
Of the two semifinal heats, the top five finishers in each automatically advanced to the championship race, as well as the next two best times overall earning spots in the final.
