Dons Start Fast and Put Away Pilots

Box Score SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – San Francisco shot lights out in the first half and raced to an 83-61 victory over Portland Thursday night in West Coast Conference basketball action at War Memorial Gymnasium at the Sobrato Center.

The Dons (17-3, 5-1 WCC) improve to 11-1 at home, with the lone loss coming against No. 4 Gonzaga, while the Pilots (7-14, 0-6) have lost seven straight.

Marcus Shaver Jr. scored a team-high 13 points for the Pilots, while Jacob Tryon added 11 points and a season-high nine rebounds off the bench. Freshman Miles Turner also recorded his first career points late in the regulation.
